ALMA supplies fire hose reels and fire hose cabinets for customers across Riyadh & Saudi Arabia and the Middle East. Our equipment will ensure that the inhabitants in your property are equipped to deal with a range of fires. All of our reels and cabinets have been tested and certified by the following: BSI, FM, LPCB, Global Mark and UL.
Fire boxes are subject to the requirements of the US NFPA code, and they are divided into two types
- Hose Reel: It is a rubber hose wrapped around a reel with arms.
- Hose Rack: It is a hose made of reinforced cloth that is mounted on a rack and is mostly used by the Civil Defense. As for the first type, it is used by individuals inside buildings.
It has three forms of installation
- Exposed: It should be protruding from the wall and 25 cm outside of it. The box should be installed on the wall.
- Semi predated: It is protruding from the wall by a distance of 10 cm, meaning that it is submerged in the wall by 15 cm
- Recessed: it is submerged inside the entire wall. All types are available in red and steel, including those that come with a side cabinet for a fire extinguisher
Installation sites:
- Near the escape stairs.
- In garages at the entrances and exits of cars.
- The hose covers 30 meters, taking into account the Travel Distance, which is the distance that the hose passes through with obstacles such as walls until it reaches the fire, and the length of the water leaving the hose is 6 meters
- Next to the main door of the building.
- The height of the box from the ground ranges from 90 cm to 150 cm.
In the event of the spread of the fire and the difficulty of fighting the fire from inside the building, Fire Hydrant fire brigades are made, and they are distributed so that each of them covers 30 m and is located around the building. It is a 2.5” faucet and a pressure of 4.5 bar and gives 250 gpm.
In some countries, a Dry Riser is made that connects to each floor connected to the fire pump, and the pipe is 4” and a check valve is installed on it, and the riser ends with a Siemens Connection, and the pipe is called the Landing Valve. Even if the fire occurs and the tank ends, the Siemees Connection is connected to the fire engine to feed the sprinklers and Fire hydrants
Therefore, it is necessary
- This link should be visible to the firefighter and be on the front of the building.
- In the event that there is more than one facade of the building, it is installed in each facade.
- It must be easily accessed and there are no obstacles in front of it.
